The Problem

80% of indigenous people experience severe food shortages and are not educated on the importance of nutrition.

An estimated 9 million children under 5 years of age in Latin America are stunted due to chronic malnutrition.

Hunger in 2013 was 4.6% which then rose to 5.5% in 2018
South America hosts the 55% of the world's undernourished individuals.

Anemia is the most widespread nutritional deficiency throughout the world. It is often caused by not getting enough iron in diets. This can cause serious cognitive effects in child development, increases in infant and maternal mortality, fatigue, and reduced capacity for physical work and mental concentration.
